Historically, drugs have been associated with spiritualism. They have attracted people over the centuries and can offer a glimpse into a childlike mindset. The mind is so relaxed, even everyday objects, that it can appear miraculously when on a drug trip. It's like the drug is removing the mask, which allows us to see things clearly. Although drugs are not new, meditation and yoga can help us reach samadhi without the use of drugs.

While the experience of samadhi is very similar to that enjoyed by Buddhist monks, there are many differences. It doesn't have any supernatural physical effects, noduality and special powers.
